This week is the first of our SERVICE Wednesdays– Beach Cleanup @ Bolsa Chica! Over the summer, we want to not only have TONS of fun, we also want to be living lives of service to our community and our church. So every other week we’ll be doing new service projects. This week, we’ll be meeting at Bolsa Chica Beach parking lot behind the Jack-in-the-Box (at Warner & PCH) at 6:30, and then with gloves and trash bags in hand, we will take on the trash of the beach! And then you will be getting picked up at the same place at 8:30pm. To make things easier on your parents, we encourage you to work out carpooling! See you there!
Come at 10:00am to play some dodgeball, and then around 11:45 we’ll head to El Pollo Loco for some lunch! Bring a couple bucks and bring friends!
That’s right, TONIGHT, on June 30th, from 5:30-10PM, we are kicking off summer in The Herd!!! And it’s about time, right?? And what speaks more to it being summer than a BBQ and a movie outdoors. No, we are not GOING to the drive-in, we are making our OWN drive-in! So bring blankets, chairs, pillows, couches whatever you’d like, and make that a night of fun with you and your friends!
We’re starting early tonight, at 5:30PM and we’ll cooking up some hot dogs and hamburgers (the classic summer grub)… we’re going to be hanging out together and playing some games, and then once the sun heads down at 8PM we’ll start our movie. What movie you might ask? It’s a little film called T.B.A (to be announced– which means, we can’t decide which movie to do yet). Haha! So keep checking back as we get closer!
Here’s a little teaser for all of you going to camp– these are the shirts that we’ll be getting for our teams at camp (and this year, EVERYONE gets one at no extra cost)! The teams are “A La Carte” or “A La Mode”……. let’s get excited!

Hey guys, just wanted to pass on an opportunity to continue to partner with Pastor Pete Contreras and New Vision Christian Fellowship in San Diego (the church we’ve been partnered with for San Diego Serve for many years). New Vision is continuing to press in to ministering to the lost and broken and needy in San Diego, and each year we go down we’ve been able to minister alongside of Pete and church. Now, we have another opportunity to partner with them…
One of the ministries that we’ve participated in with New Vision is going out on the streets of downtown San Diego and ministering to the homeless through both meeting physical needs (we go out with packs of supplies) and praying for them. Here’s the need: Pete is running low on some items for those packs, and being a church plant, right now he could use some donations to help sustain that ministry. Would you be willing to help?
